KEWANEE BOILER INVITE The Rebels Boys and Girls cross country teams went to a soggy Baker Park in Kewanee on Saturday September 28 for the Kewanee Boiler Invite. Invite officials had to make several adjustments to the course to avoid newly formed lakes from Friday's heavy rains. No matter, the Girls came home as the Invite team champions (besting runner-up Chillicothe IVC 37 - 62). The Girls placed their 5 scoring runners all in the Top 20. Olivia Frail (2nd - 21:06), Ashley Orrick (4th - 21:16), Paige Rewerts (12th - 22:30), Josie Price (18th - 23:02) and Alyssa Dyken (20th - 23:06) all received medals for their Top 20 finishes. Also running for the Girls were Trinity Shimmin (26th - 24:02), Lena Becker (33rd - 24:46), Emily Orrick (46th - 26:56) and Sarah Fairfield (48th - 27:07). The Boys got 6th out of 10 full teams in the Boys race. Alex Welch was the only Boys racers to get a medal for finishing in the Top 20 by finishing 13th in 18:49. Rounding out the Boys scoring were Payton Stahl (37th - 20:27), Caden Daum (42nd - 20:43), Rilley Bowen (48th - 20:57) and Brett Browning (61st - 21:49). Ashley Orrick was the only Rebels to set a new Season Best Saturday. Their were 17 schools at the Invite with 68 finishers in the Girls race and 80 finishers in the Boys race.
